メンタル・イデア・ラボの本城ハルです。

今回は前回に引き続き、ゲシュタルト療法のエンプティチェアについてお話ししようと思います。

エンプティチェアで準備するのは２脚の椅子だけです。椅子と書きましたが、自分一人でおこなう場合はクッションでも座布団でも、自分にしっくりくるもので構いません。

１）まず、自分の椅子にゆったりと座り、呼吸や気持ちを整えます。

２）それから、自分が思いや気持ちを伝えたい人（過去の自分／今の自分／母親／父親／パートナー／大好きだった祖母＜祖父＞／自分をいじめていたクラスメイト／友達／上司etc）を思い浮かべます。

３）ゆっくりと伝えたい人が目の前の椅子に座っているイメージを作り上げていきます。

４）イメージが出来上がったら、いよいよあなたの思いや気持ちを伝えていきましょう。ツラかったこと、悲しかったこと、恨み言、それに感謝。自分の出せなかった思いをぶつけていくのです。

５）思いや気持ち、感情を伝え終わったら、今度は反対側の椅子に座り、相手の立場やその時の気持ちを想像し、相手になって（なったつもりで）返してくれそうな言葉を考え、目の前にいる空の椅子に座る透明なあなたに声をかけてみます。

６）それを受け、再度元の椅子に戻り相手の言葉を受け取ります。必要であれば、もう一度繰り返します。

実際には臨床心理士とおこなっていきますが、一人でおこなう場合の具体的なイメージや例を載せておきます。

１）自分が座る椅子ともう一つ椅子を用意し、当時を思い出しながら気持ちを伝えたい恩師が座っているとイメージしていきます。

２）当時の会話や風景、恩師の声や着ていた服など、ゆっくり気持ちを整えながら思い出し、目の前の椅子に座ってもらいます（座ってもらうイメージ）。

３）「家が面白くなくて学校で荒れていた時に、いつも話を聞いてくれてありがとうございました。先生がいてくれたから学校を辞めずに何とか頑張ろうと思えて無事に卒業できました」と、当時伝えられなかった感謝の気持ちを伝えます。

４）席を恩師が座っている椅子に移動し、恩師があなたにかけてくれそうな言葉を想像し返してみてください。

５）再度自分の席に戻り、恩師がかけてくれそうな言葉を受けたあなた自身の気持ちをまた言葉にします。

わざわざ２つの椅子を使い、役割によって椅子に座り直すことで、自分の伝えたい気持ちと伝えたい相手側を明確に客観的に役割交代ができるようにする意味があります。

少年院では、自分と被害者の気持ちに向き合い、理解と反省を促す意味で役割書簡という手法を使ってきましたが、手紙という形を取らないのがエンプティチェアになります。

ぐるぐる出口のないモヤモヤや感情を昇華させていく一つのやり方であるエンプティチェア、一緒にやってみませんか？
