今回はマウンティングについてです。
私は手強い思春期男子と日々格闘する一児の母でもあるのですが、社会生活、子育てなど至るところでこの『マウンティング』をひしひしと感じます。
男性にもマウンティング意識はありますが、これについてはまたの機会にするとして、今回は女性によるマウンティングにフォーカスしてみたいと思います。
▶︎ 女性のマウンティングは、男性のそれよりエゲツなく、くだらない。
意識的であれ無意識的であれ、やたらと人と比較し『私のほうが上だ』と自分の立ち位置を確認、満足したり安心したがる困ったクセです。
我が子が赤ちゃん時代は体重から身長、首座り、いつハイハイしたかや『うちは◯◯でつかまり立ちしたわよっ(ドヤ顏)』まで“赤ちゃんを使ったマウンティング”が幅を利かせ、赤ちゃん〜幼児期までチマチマとしょっちゅうある健診のたびにこのような場面によく出くわしました。
そんな話をいちいち真面目に聞いていないので心乱れることはありませんでしたが、初めての子供で不安だらけの新米ママにとっては、この悪意なきマウンティングで不安が倍増し、巷に溢れる育児書を読み漁り、インターネットで検索しては悶々とする人が出てきます。

マウンティングが生まれる心理を解説するより「マウンティングされている！」と感じた時の対処法を書き連ねていきたいと思います。
【ナチュラルスルー】マウンティング女子に取っ捕まってしまった時のシチュエーション次第になりますが、周りにいる真っ赤な他人をにわか知り合いに設定し(実際に巻き込むわけではないのでご安心を)、ふんふんと話を聞くふりをしながら周りを窺い、ふと気づいたふうを装って「あ！〇〇さん！◯◯さーん！」と人がいるところに向かって手を振り、「ごめん、同級生だ」や「親戚のおばさんがいた」などと言い「ちょっとごめんね、またね！」に持ち込みます。実際そんな人はいないので、そのまま駆け寄るふうを装いながら離れていき、トンズラしてしまいましょう。誰かから電話がかかってきた、LINEがきたふりで急用を装ってトンズラもいいでしょう(笑)
【心地悪くする反アクティブ・リスニング】(アクティブ・リスニングについては前回ブログを参照）あえて相手のストレスを上げる聴き方をして、相手から立ち去ってもらうやり方。具体的には、話の腰は積極的に折り、相槌はウワの空かスマホを見ながら「ふ〜ん」「へー」の２単語をループしてみましょう。諦めずにマウンティングしてくるツワモノには「さっきから同じ話しかしてないよね？楽しい？」や「まるで知りたがりの近所のオバさんみたいですねー、人のことそんなに気になるタイプ？」とか「あ、それ今話題のマウンティング女子ってやつ？」と聞いてみるのもいいでしょう。ただ、この受け答えをしているとマウンティングターゲットから外れる代わりに間違いなく嫌われます(笑)
