ようやくメンタルヘルスの重要性が認知され、ストレスチェック制度を導入する企業も増えてきました。改正労働安全衛生法６８条にあるように、ストレスチェックとは心理的症状の確認ではなく、心理的負担の程度を把握するためにおこなう検査です。

またストレスチェックには定期的に従業員のストレス状況について検査をおこなうことで従業員への気付きを促すことや、高ストレス者を早期に発見し医師や臨床心理士、産業カウンセラーなどの面談に繋げること、職場にあるストレッサーを評価し職場環境の改善に取り組むことでストレス要因そのものを低減させる目的があります。

ストレッサーが低減することで従業員のメンタルヘルスが守られ、メンタル不調からの休職者、離職者を減らすことにも繋がります。

ほとんどの企業が５７項目版職業性ストレス簡易調査票という調査票を使っていると思います。ストレスチェックは従業員が正直に答えていることが前提になりますが、実は他にも課題があります。

  • 企業に産業医（臨床心理士や産業カウンセラー）がおり、きちんと機能しているか？
  • 高ストレスと判定された従業員が医師や臨床心理士、産業カウンセラーなどの面談を受けやすいスキームが整っているか？
  • 従業員が正直に回答できるような体制、スキームを確保できているか？
  • ストレスチェックの性質上、さまざまな人間や組織が関係してくるが、個人情報管理は徹底できているか？

などです。

また、結果が本人通知のみのため高ストレス者であっても、その後の対応は本人に委ねられており、実際は「気になるなら心療内科へ行ってね」「カウンセラーに話を聞いてもらってね」と、やりっぱなし感は否めません。

日本ではメンタルクリニックや心療内科という場所は、「風邪っぽいから内科に行こうかな」のように気軽に門をくぐれる場所ではないのが正直なところではないでしょうか。

まだ大丈夫、大したことない、みんな大なり小なり悩みやストレスはあるものだ、自分だけじゃない・・・そう考えて相談も吐き出すこともできない従業員が多いのが現実です。
