組織のメンタルヘルスについて考える【３】

メンタル・イデア・ラボの本城ハルです。

脳とメンタルヘルス（ストレス）は密接な関係があり、うつ状態は神経伝達物質であるノルアドレナリンとセロトニンの働きが低下することにより起こると言われています。

セロトニンが十分分泌されていると気分が安定し安らぎを感じることができます。気分が安定し安らいだ状態だと、体も心も元気でいられる、ということです。セロトニンが不足すると、イライラしやすく不安も感じやすくなります。

組織全体でセロトニン対策を講じるとすれば、マインドフルネスが効果的です。マインドフルネスはストレス対策として導入する企業も増えてきました。

当ラボでもマインドフルネス、アンガーマネジメント研修は人気で、その企業に一番合った形で研修会や講習会、パーソナルトレーニングをおこなっています。

企業を挙げて全従業員が一緒に取り組むことが一番でも現実的ではないので、まずは『マインドフルネスとは何ぞや？』を知ってもらい、部署ごとにどのように導入すれば効果的かを一緒に考えていきます。

研修をやれば大丈夫、話を聞いたからできるようになる、というものでもないため、その組織にマッチした方法で計画を立て、研修内容を考え、フィードバック（アフターフォロー）がなければ最大限の効果は望めません。

企業、組織においてこのような取り組みをおこなう意義は、従業員に如何にモチベーションを保持し生産性を高め業務を遂行してもらうか、に他なりません。これは結果的に利益を出せる企業、組織の可能性を高めることになり、従業員も活き活きと活躍できる環境ということで、双方にとって好循環なことだと言えます。

たまに、メンタルヘルスに取り組めば売り上げが伸びるのか？と質問を受けることがありますが、例えば社員食堂を設置している企業は、売り上げを伸ばすために設置しているでしょうか。決してそうではないはずです。『従業員の健康』がまずあって設置していると思います。そして従業員がいつまでも健康で会社に貢献することで、それが結果的に売り上げ増に繋がれば、ということではないでしょうか。企業によっては従業員への利益還元策の一環かもしれませんね。メンタルヘルスへの取り組みも社員食堂を設置することと似ています。福利厚生とはそういうものではないかと思うのです。

個人においては、メンタルクリニックなどで処方される薬に頼らなくても、日常生活の中に取り入れると簡単にセロトニンを増やせる行動があるので、是非やってみてください。

ゆっくり散歩、ではなく、少し早歩き（ジョギングとウォーキングの間くらい）で３０分程度歩く。

自分の呼吸や歩くリズムといった“今”に意識を向け、集中するとより効果的です。呼吸に集中するのは鬼滅の刃ではなくとも、大切で意味があることなのです。

セロトニンを増やすサプリメントなどもありますが、できれば食事で摂取したいものです。セロトニン合成に必要なトリプトファンは、豆腐や納豆といった大豆製品や乳製品に多く含まれます。ここは社員食堂の出番かもしれませんね（笑）

質の良い睡眠、自分に合ったストレスコーピング、適度な運動、日々の食生活。メンタルを守るためにできることもたくさんありますから、取り組みやすいところから意識を変えていくといいと思います。

繰り返しになりますが、日常の小さなイライラモヤモヤを放置するとメンタル不調を引き起こします。

私は思春期真っ只中の可愛げのない息子の言動／態度に日々イライラしています（笑）手強い発達障害の息子と生活していると、残念ながら胃が痛くなったり円形ハゲができることもありますが、私がメンタル不調にまでならないのは、アンガーマネジメントにじっくり取り組んできていること、何かあればすぐに書き出し、視覚化してストレスコーピングすることが習慣化しているからです。

ストレスはなくならないものです。仲良くはなれないかもしれませんが、少しでもストレスとラクに付き合いたいものですね。
