先日インターネットで面白いニュース記事を読みました。

コロナによって在宅ワークやテレワークが増えたことで、オフィスの縮小傾向にあることは周知のとおりです。その結果、新たな課題が生じました。それはコミュニケーション不足や交流不足です。

実際にその記事では社員がコミュニケーション不足や交流不足を不安に思っているという内容が書かれていました。

そこで最近ではオフィスを働く場からコミュニケーションや交流の場へと変化させようとしている、というのです。もちろん、それが可能な企業や難しい企業があります。業界にもよるでしょうし、業種や職種にもよるでしょう。

テレワークや在宅ワークが一定の広がりを見せる一方で、やはりコミュニケーションや交流は人が人らしく生きていく上で必要な要素です。

まして仕事はチームでおこなうことがほとんどで、チーム内のコミュニケーションや交流が少なくなるテレワークや在宅ワークに不安を抱くことは当然で、至極まっとうな欲求だと思います。

オフィスを働く場からコミュニケーションや交流の場へ移行できる職種、企業はまだ少なく、またそれが可能な職種も限られます。コロナが生んだ新しい職場の形のひとつのトピックでしょう。これが善ということではありません。

一方、このほどパナソニックは週休３日制を試験導入するようです。これもパナソニック内でも全職種ということではないようで、人事や経理など比較的在宅ワークやテレワークと親和性のある部署やグループ会社の社員を対象にしているようです。

日本電気は週休３日制を既に導入しており、日立製作所も検討しているようです。大企業ならではの試みだと思いますが、個人的に取引先は大変かもしれないな、とふと思いました。

部署にもよるのでしょうが、急ぎの連絡を取りたくても担当者がお休みでは動けないという弊害です。代理の人が上手く引き継いでくれていればまだいいのですが、案外そうでもないケースが多く、また代理の人に判断を仰いでも判断まではできない場合がほとんどだからです。

結局休日にまで携帯電話やメールなどで追いかけることになります。実際私は土日ですら、そういう場面を体験したことがあります。月曜日が締め切り、前週の金曜日までにチェックの返事をもらわないと間に合わないということがあり、結局土日に担当者を捕まえて間に合わせたという経験は何度もあります。締め切りを延ばしてくれればいいのですが、締め切りは延ばされません。当然予めスケジュールを立てますが、そのとおりにはなかなか上手くいかないのが現実です。

週休３日制の弊害は周囲の取引先にも及ぶことを危惧していて、どういうことかというと取引先がそれに合わせて動くことになり、徹夜になったり残業の毎日になる、ということです。立場が弱い取引先の従業員の働き方が、週休３日制のスケジュールに追われて一層多忙になり疲弊してしまっては、週休３日制はその企業の独りよがりで、世間には良いイメージを与えることはできても、その実、誰かの犠牲の上に成り立っている、ということになりかねないと思われます。

週休３日制を導入しその制度を活用する側の意識（週休３日制を導入した企業の従業員の意識）が、取引先も含めた周囲の人たちに対しどこまで考えられるかが問われるなと思いました。
