土曜日あたりから天気が悪い３連休となってしまいましたが、如何お過ごしでしょうか。

さて価値観も最終回となりました。前回の価値観の例をピックアップして、あるいはご自分で付け足しなどして、ご自分の人生のガイドラインを確認することはできたでしょうか。

今回は価値観が合わない人とのコミュニケーションについて書きたいと思います。いろいろなところで書かれているとは思いますが、ここに書くこともご参考にしていただければ幸いです。

以前のコラムで、自分以外は親子であっても血の繋がった“他者”だとお話ししてきました。

ぶつかり合いながらも、なかなか離れられないのが親子ですが、血の繋がりもない真っ赤な他者は、いとも簡単に縁が切れてしまうものです。どうやっても受け入れられない価値観を前に、意識的に相手と縁を切ることもあると思います。私はつい最近そういうことがあったばかりなのでよくわかります（笑）

ですが、仕事上の関わりや婚家など関係上（しがらみ上？）疎遠にすることも縁を切ることも現実的に難しい場合もありますし、わかり合いたい縁を切りたくない人もいると思います。

そのような時に思い出してほしいこと、意識してみるとよいことがあります。

価値観が同じ人はこの世に存在しないことを理解する

→血の繋がった家族ですら価値観が合わず衝突することもあるのですから、生まれ育った環境がまったく違う他者と価値観が合わないのは自然なこと。そう理解することで、自分とは違う価値観を受け入れやすくなります。いつもは理解しているつもりでも、親しくなった相手とは、つい同じ価値観を求めてしまいがちではないでしょうか。

違う価値観を知る機会と考える

→自分の価値観を基準にし、その中だけで生きていると柔軟性がなくなり生きづらさを感じたり、怒りも感じやすくなります。「この人とは気が合わない」と感じたら「自分と違う価値観を知る機会（だから認めろ、受け入れろではありません）だ」と捉えてみてください。さまざまな人と関わっていくことで、さまざまな価値観を知り、関わることになり、結果自分の視野を広げていくことに繋がっていきます。文化が違う外国人と接すると価値観の大きな違いに驚きますが、同時に自分の視野も広がった感覚がありますよね。

当然私にもありますが、

どうしても認められない価値観を、自分が苦しい思いをしてまで無理やり認めたり、受け入れたりする必要はまったくありません。

心の中で『なるほどね、でも無理！』で構いません。心の中で、がポイントです（笑）

職場など、どうにもならない時は別ですが、他者と関わる距離（バウンダリー）は自分が決めてよいのですから。

時々面白い価値観に出会うこともあるので、“他者の価値観を知る機会”という柔軟性を持っているとよいし、少し日常のスパイスになって日々は楽しくなるかもしれませんよ（笑）
